The Academic Orchestra of the University of Coimbra (OAUC) will take to the stage of the Gil Vicente Academic Theatre (TAGV) next Wednesday (29th) at 9.30pm for the inaugural concert of the 2021/22 academic year, "Sonus Humanae Vitae". OAUC also celebrates its 5th anniversary with the theme "Life". The concert will take place on 29th September at 21:30 at the TAGV (Gil Vicente Academic Theatre) with works by Joly Braga Santos, Béla Bártok, David Miguel and Astor Piazzolla, with guest conductor Jan Wierzba.

The Academic Orchestra was founded in 2016 as a result of a partnership between "Tuna Académica" and the Rectory of the UC. Its main objective is to provide a space for the performance of classical music for students, alumni, faculty, staff and prospective students of the University of Coimbra and other higher education institutions in the city.
