Rui Nabeiro to receive honorary doctorate on the 8th of June

On the 8th of June, the University of Coimbra (UC), upon the proposal of the Faculty of Economics (FEUC), will confer a Doctor Honoris Causa on Commander Rui Nabeiro. This is the highest honour awarded by a Portuguese university to citizens of unquestionable professional merit and human qualities that are an inspiring reference for society as a whole.

This public recognition highlights the strong synergy between the management principles taught at the UC, particularly in the various FEUC study programmes, and their application in business management processes and in the human element of work relations.

During the academic ceremony, which will take place in the Great Hall of Acts of the UC at 11am, Rui Nabeiro's remarkable life path will be publicly praised by António Martins, Assistant Professor at FEUC, an expert in finance and corporate taxation.

The presenter of the candidate, Carlos Fortuna, sociologist and Emeritus Professor at FEUC, will be praised by Margarida Mano, Assistant Professor at the same faculty.

For the director of FEUC, Álvaro Garrido, the sense of humanism and social responsibility of Rui Nabeiro, a citizen who built a "company with a human face", makes this "Honorary Doctorate a unique distinction that inspires ethical and social values that we should subscribe to in academic life, in business, and in our everyday lives".
