IBM Quantum System 2 Concept

The University of Coimbra (UC) is hosting the second edition of a workshop on quantum computing, to be on the 17th of January, from 2 to 6 pm (GMT) in Room A5.4 of the Department of Informatics Engineering (DEI), located on Campus II of the UC Faculty of Sciences and Technology. The workshop will feature the participation of IBM, a leading company in the field.

Online access to the event will be available via Zoom at: https://dei.uc.pt/vc/workshops. Participation is open to all interested parties and no prior registration is required.

The workshop aims to bring together the UC Quantum Computing team and discuss collaboration avenues with IBM.

Quantum computing is a multidisciplinary field that uses quantum mechanics to solve complex problems faster than classical computers. The opening session will be attended by Jorge Henriques (DEI-UC Director), João Ramalho Santos (UC Vice-Rector), Miguel Fonseca (Coimbra City Council), José Ataíde (IBM/SOFTINSA).

Throughout the day, various sessions will follow, covering different topics related to quantum computing, with the participation of international experts. The closing session will be attended by Nuno Mendonça (UC Pro-Rector), Bruno Januário (IBM), Helena Alberto (UC), and Edmundo Monteiro (UC).
