The UC strengthens cooperation ties at the GISU Annual Conference

The University of Coimbra (UC) participated in the Annual Conference of the “Alliance of Guangzhou International Sister-City Universities – GISU”, which took place in Guangzhou, China. The event strengthened the cooperation bonds between the Universities of the GISU network: Linköping (Sweden), Padova (Italy), Québec (Canada), Tampere (Finland) and Western Sydney (Australia).

The UC was represented by the Director of the Sino-Lusophone Academy and the Faculty of Law, Rui de Figueiredo Marcos and by Cristina Zhou, Director of the Confucius Institute.

The UC is one of the founding members of GISU, which has as its main goal to promote cooperation between Sister-City Universities with the city of Guangzhou, in order to enable the development of education, scientific research and cultural exchange.
